• Ahali increased Flora's Endowment to a total of $77,030.

•On March, 3 2004, Ahali relocated Flora to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, with $48,000 of her endowment in place.

2003

• Ahali successfully negotiates Flora's relocation to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.

• Ahali launches the Free Flora Campaign to raise $200,000 needed to ensure Flora's move to The Elephant Sanctuary.

• Flora’s relocation marks the beginning of Ahali's Elephant Relocation Program, and a significant step towards what we believe is the most effective, long-term solution to alleviating the suffering of elephants in captivity.

2002

• Ahali initiates global search for a suitable home for Flora, with board members extensively researching and investigating the options: zoological institutions with well-respected elephant programs, private reserves and sanctuaries, in North America and Africa.

2001  

• Ahali successfully arranged temporary boarding for Flora upon her retirement from the circus, at Miami Metro Zoo in Miami, Florida, providing her with much needed companionship until a permanent home was located.
