Your tax-deductible support makes a significant difference
in Flora's life -- the days of living alone are behind
her, and she is for the first time experiencing the
simple life she was meant to live -- foraging freely
in pastures and woods, bathing in ponds and streams,
and frolicking with her new elephant friends.
With
your help, we have established Flora’s
Endowment Fund,
to insure Flora’s residency at The Elephant Sanctuary
and to provide for Flora and her needs for the rest
of her life.
Like most everything, Flora’s freedom comes at
a price. Consider for a moment that Flora, who is a
just 22, will live for another 45+ years, and that it
costs $12,000 a year to provide feed and care for Flora
-- who consumes 130 pounds of food per day, and just
like us, has medical needs that will continue to increase
as she gets older.
A minimum endowment of $200,000 is needed for Flora’s
Fund to generate sufficient yearly income to provide
for Flora for the rest of her life. To date, we have
raised nearly $100,000 - but your help is still needed.
